Job Title: Assistant Store Manager
Location: Kevin’s Fine Outdoor Gear & Apparel, Thomasville, GA 31792
Reports To: General Manager
Must be a team player and work well with other department managers. We do have a separate gun department in the store so please only apply if you are comfortable with the outdoor sports industry. Job Description: Provides outstanding customer service to high end clientele, supervises and schedules staff. The Assistant Manager has overall accountability for growing sales and profitability throughout the store, with the exception of gun and gun related sales. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the store, ensuring appropriate resources are in place. Kevin’s is fully operational six days a week, and closed on Sunday. The Assistant Manager will ensure compliance within the store. The Assistant Manager is responsible the store exceeds the expectations of its customers and lives up to the Kevin’s brand image.
We are looking for talented, self-starting individuals with 3 - 5 years of retail management experience. Business and retail sales experience is a must.
Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Leads by example, by adhering to all company policies as well as ensuring store staff adheres to company policies, to include the dress code.
Leads team, by coaching and motivating colleagues to ensure that superior customer service is delivered.
Along with the General Manager, maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, and orienting employees.
Maintains store staff job results by training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; however, obtains authorization for clearance sales and marking down merchandise.
Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans.
Secures merchandise by implementing security measures.
Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Manages the product inventory; ensures that sufficient inventory is available at the store and on the sales floor to avoid being “out of stock”.
